My Water Buddy and Family® is a multi-faceted edutainment brand, created by Michele R. Wright, Ph.D., with the mission to educationally and entertainingly promote the benefits of drinking water to children and their families for a more fulfilling quality of life through a healthier body. This edutainment platform takes children on an amusing and entertaining journey to learn the importance of water to the extended family of all living species, the Earth, and the environment. My Water Buddy and Family uses fun characters fashioned as anthropomorphic organs with special powers that are relatable and aspirational to children.
The main character of the brand is My Water Buddy®, a unique personification of water (H20) as well as the human body. My Water Buddy embodies “The Family” which consists of various anthropomorphic body parts and organ characters that drinking water positively impacts, including: the blood (“Flowy” the Blood Drop), the bones (“Boney” the Bone), the brain (“Whizzy” the Brain), the heart (“Pumpy” the Heart), the kidneys (“Gushy” and “Flushy” the Twin Kidneys), the lungs (“Airy” and “Breezy” the Twin Lungs), the muscles (“Brawny®” the Muscle), and the stomach (“Tummy” the Stomach).
My Water Buddy and Family also has an academic arm named My Learning Buddy®, an interactive total body edutainment platform that uses animation and multi-sensory instruction to help elementary students stay engaged, focused, and attentive. My Learning Buddy is an edutainment platform featuring My Water Buddy and Family® animated characters that provides unique opportunities for elementary and special education students to grow, excel, and succeed.
My Learning Buddy platform inspires total body participation in the classroom, while helping children learn to express their feelings and engage with the world outside of the classroom. This educational system includes a Social-Emotional edutainment curriculum, which provides life instructional skills for success, and a STEM edutainment curriculum that uniquely incorporates animation and a new and informative method of learning the innovative field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). My Learning Buddy curriculums also integrate a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavioral needs.
